Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a remote professional who helps entrepreneurs and busy professionals manage their workload by handling time-consuming tasks like email, scheduling, customer support, social media, research, and more. Think of a VA as your behind-the-scenes partner—freeing up your time so you can focus on growing your business and doing what you do best, without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire.

What services does a VA provide?

Common tasks a VA can help with include:

  • Managing emails and calendars

  • Booking appointments and travel

  • Handling customer inquiries

  • Creating and scheduling social media content

  • Data entry and online research

  • Invoicing and basic bookkeeping

Whether you need daily support or help with specific projects, a VA can be a flexible and cost-effective solution.

Note: Proofreading and editing services are also available under separate, specialized packages—perfect for those needing a sharp eye on content quality.

How much does it cost to hire you as a VA?

My packages are based on hours per month of service, starting as small as 10 hours up to 25 hours per month, and include a signed contract outlining what terms and conditions apply.  Please click here: Virtual Assistance or on the link at the top of this page to see the services I offer and package options.

Do you offer Proofreading and Editing services?

Yes! In addition to virtual assistant support, I offer dedicated Proofreading and Editing services through separate, specialized packages. These services are ideal for business owners, content creators, and professionals who want their written materials to be polished, professional, and error-free.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what each service includes:

  • Proofreading: A final check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors—perfect for content that’s already been written and just needs a clean, professional finish.

  • Editing: A deeper review that may involve rewriting sentences for clarity, improving flow and tone, and making sure your message is consistent and impactful.

Whether you're working on web copy, blog posts, client communications, or marketing materials, I’ll make sure your writing hits the mark.

Why do I need you to do this? Doesn't AI do a better job?

Relying on an AI tool for proofreading is tempting, but algorithms can only catch so much without understanding the context, tone, and voice of a piece of writing.

For example, AI will not catch the misspelling of a person's name, homonyms, inconsistencies in time and place, and verb tense or formatting issues, to name just a few.

Ultimately, AI can be used to help improve writing as a whole, but the feedback of a human proofreader for more nuanced errors and personalized feedback is most beneficial.

Also, remember that once you upload your writing into an AI tool, it is added to the catalog of works AI will use to create "new" works, so it is no longer 'your' work per se.

What type of documents do you work with?

I work with a wide range of content, from business materials to creative projects. Whether you need a light proofread or a deeper edit, I tailor my approach to suit your goals and audience.

Common document types include:

  • Website copy

  • Blog posts and articles

  • Email newsletters

  • Social media content

  • Business proposals and reports

  • Client communications

  • Marketing materials

  • Workbooks, courses, and digital products

  • Manuscripts and book drafts (fiction or non-fiction)

If you’re an author, I offer both proofreading and editing services to help bring your book to a professional standard, whether you're preparing to self-publish or submit to a publisher.

I primarily work with Microsoft Word or Google Docs, using Track Changes so you can easily review and approve every suggestion. I can also work with PDFs, though some editing tools may be more limited. Clients are welcome to send files directly via email or share a OneDrive link if that’s more convenient.

Have something unique in mind? Just reach out! I’m happy to review most professional or creative writing projects.

What is your typical turnaround time?

Turnaround times vary depending on the length and complexity of the content, but most projects are completed within 2–4 business days. Rush options may be available for time-sensitive work—just ask!

Whether you're working on web copy, blog posts, client communications, or marketing materials, I’ll make sure your writing hits the mark.

For example, proofreading a 200-page document will take approximately 40 hours at a rate of 5 pages per hour.
